Into the Wild – Getting there

The adventure

starts with the journey

The adventure starts as soon as you set foot in South Africa, and will continue in your mind long after you made it back home again.

Arriving from overseas, we find it easier to land in Johannesburg and then rent a car to drive to Marloth Park. It is very easy to drive in South Africa (they drive on the left hand side), the roads are in excellent condition and the weather is of course beautiful most of the time. It takes about 4 hours to drive from JNB airport to Marloth Park, and you will enjoy the stunning and changing landscape along the way while you settle into holiday mood. We recommend renting a car which is also suitable for game drives and wildlife viewing: ideally a car which is bit higher up such as a 4×4 or a minivan.

It is also possible to take a connecting flight to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport, which is located close to Nelspruit, a ca. 75 minute drive from Home of the Wild. This is the best option if you are arriving from another part of South Africa. There are also car rentals at Kruger Airport.

Whichever mode of transportation you choose, the journey will be worth it!
